Photography

After our 100 brief and our photography induction i remembered how much i actually liked photography and how one of my favorite creative's is a photographer.

I first saw Ewen Spencers work when i bought the streets album original pirate material. He then went on to do The Streets second album photography.My favorite work by him was 'Open Mic' at the time i was super interested in grime so this book blew me away not only in its content but in the way he took his photos and produced so much energy and atmosphere in them.

I love his composition of photo's and the colour is so strong and bright but still clear and realistic.

a while ago i saw a video called dirty handz. Mainly French and Swedish writer's. WUFC and SDK really into there stuff as far as graffiti goes. I came across (what i think is newish) Friendly Fire, again more Scandinavian graf goodness.

RED IS COLOUR

"RED IS COULOR" i decided to take photos of every red thing i could find on a brisk walk through town and surrounding areas these are my result in a tonal system.

so after our crit on fri afternoon i couldn't stop thinking about design with ideas behind it. I can safely say i cant agree with the comment that design without a idea behind is crap! i mean i can understand that there has to be a certain choice taken on what to put in the design and what not to and what the target audience want, but i feel comftable knowing that it just looks good.

What is graphic design?

So after reading i pretty obvious book my best interoperation of graphic design would be "Graphic design is the business of making or choosing marks and arranging them on a surface to convey an idea"

I think the best bit about this quote is "graphic design is the business...." for me this could be no more true i like to draw and create art of my own but my graphic design interest is strictly for business and making doe!
